Description
Gender Justice Clinic in the Faculty of Law will thus host an international conference under the theme of ‘Africanist Perspectives on Gender Justice and Equality’. The conference offers a platform for reflection, critique, debate, discussion and discourse on gender inequalities and intensifying efforts for gender equality in the current political and economic context. The Conference will focus on conceptual, theoretical, legislative and regulatory discussion aimed at ensuring effective equality between women and men in all sectors of society. The Gender Justice Clinic brings together key representatives from government, civil society organisations, academia, judiciary, police, and individual gender justice advocates, to intensify efforts for realisation of gender justice and equality. The conference will be an opportunity to share conceptual, theoretical and legal perspectives on what are Africa’s achievements, challenges, opportunities and possible future strategies in the pursuit of gender justice at national, regional and global levels.
