Description
Compression
This seminar by guest speaker, Dr Ed Krčma, is the first in the History of Art Research Seminar Series 2015 - 2016.
Formerly of University College Cork, Ed is now based in the School of Art History and World Art Studies at the University of East Anglia.
His research focuses on the history and theory of drawing in Western Europe and America after 1945, with special interest in phenomenological questions of temporality and embodiment in relation to drawing; problems of autonomy and heteronomy in art since World War II; and the role of aesthetic experience in contemporary practice.
His talk focuses on an exhibition he curated in Limerick earlier this year and is entitled ‘Compression’.
