MRC recombinant DNA training fellowship, Biochemistry Department at the MRC National Institute for Medical Research, Mill Hill, London

Activity: Other activity typesOther

Description

I had a thorough training in recombinant DNA cloning techniques, DNA sequencing, membrane biochemistry and separation techniques, antibody production, rat dissection, and the analysis of gap junctions. The purpose of the research was to clone the rat gap junction gene. I made progress with this work but the gene was finally isolated and sequenced elsewhere.

Alan E. Smith was Head of the Laboratory, and I was supervised by Dr Howard Evans
