'Racing in the East' at Ipswich Witches Speedway Club

The 'Racing in the East' exhibition, curated by Dr Richard Mills, travelled to Foxhall Stadium, Ipswich for the second leg of its tour. The display was erected inside the stadium for the Ipswich Witches v Birmingham Brummies British Premiership meeting. Underpinned by two Open Access research articles which bring together the Centre of East Anglian Studies and the East Centre for the study of East and Central Europe and the former Soviet space, the exhibition underlines the region’s stature in international motorsport, highlights the extensive interactions between East Anglia and the wider world, and celebrates migrant riders and foreign machines that stood in the vanguard of continental interactions with the region. Hundreds of speedway fans visited the exhibition over the course of the evening, and it was advertised in the matchday programme. The event subsequently featured on the Witches' social media accounts.
