Description

The 'Racing in the East' exhibition, curated by Dr Richard Mills, was installed at the International Council for Central and East European Studies (ICCEES) World Congress 2025. Hosted at UCL's Institute of Education, the event welcomed c.1,500 delegates to London. 'Racing in the East' was installed in the exhibition hall for the duration of the Congress and also hosted a reception event. The Congress brought the project to a broad audience of experts from multiple countries. In the process, it raised awareness of UEA's East Centre and the Centre for East Anglian Studies (CEAS). Underpinned by two Open Access research articles which bring together the Centre of East Anglian Studies and the East Centre for the study of East and Central Europe and the former Soviet space, 'Racing in the East' underlines the region’s stature in international motorsport, highlights the extensive interactions between East Anglia and the wider world, and celebrates migrant riders and foreign machines that stood in the vanguard of continental interactions with the region.
