Description of impact
This event, attended by over 1,000 mathematics school teachers, is the largest subject conference for teachers in Italy. In the session for secondary school teachers, I presented my recently published ICS monograph (Primi Passi nell'Aritmetica dell'Infinito. Bonomo) and joined the publisher's stand in the book market set up at the conference to chat to teachers interested in my book and to sign copies. The arithmetic of infinity can extend numeracy skills to competence of special relevance to contemporary applications, in particular high-performance computing and optimisation. The ICS goal is to promote engagement of mathematics teachers and students with its key ideas in a way that is thought-provoking, creative, and entertaining (through discussions of paradoxes of infinity). Participation to this conference has generated engagement with teachers, expressions of interest in adopting and experimenting with the book's worksheets and exercises.
