Organisation profile
Our British Centre for Literary Translation Research Group meets, co-ordinates and promotes research activities in literary translation.
We are based in the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing but bring together academic colleagues and graduate students from across the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Focused on the British Centre for Literary Translation, we benefit from their administrative support and extensive library resources.
We run a regular online research seminar series with invited external speakers, book launch symposia celebrating significant publications in the field by affiliated researchers, and other larger research events. Our members draw on Research Group resources to support conference attendance, travel for archival visits, and other research initiatives. We support members’ existing research projects and grant applications for new projects, facilitating interdisciplinary research with our partners and beyond.
