This research theme integrates our interdisciplinary research in the areas of gut biology, cardiometabolic health, nutritional biochemistry and medical microbiology. Our translational research programmes cover mechanistic studies in vitro and in animal models, clinical trials and strong collaborative links with world-leading prospective cohort studies. Locally we are a core part of the recently established Quadram Institute, which houses our state-of-the-art clinical trial facilities. We have a wide range of established international collaborators exemplified by our ongoing research with University of Cambridge and Harvard University.
