Organisation profile
The core interest of the Cognition Action Perception group is the interplay between high-level cognition and lower level sensorimotor processes in typical and atypical populations.
Group members utilise eye-tracking, virtual reality, motion capture, functional neuroimaging and neuropsychological techniques to investigate a range of research questions.
The Cognition Action Perception group includes a strong Cognitive Neuroscience focus along with expertise in Computational Psychology. We also have strong ties to the Social Cognition group in the school as well as ties to Developmental Science via our joint emphasis on Cognition Across the Lifespan.
The work of the group is currently supported by a range of funding sources including the Medical Research Council and European Research Council. In addition, we host a H2020 MSCA ITN (grant agreement No 676063). In this programme, called DComm, we work with 11 European partner organisations to explore deictic communication, which forms the crucial connection between language, objects, and locations in the world.
