Organisation profile
The School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies provides a vibrant and supportive environment for cutting-edge research at the forefront of our disciplines.
Established academics, early career researchers, PhD students and others work across fields of expertise to address some of the modern world's most important questions around power, culture, communication and morality.
The reputation of our research staff is confirmed through our record of publishing research monographs and academic papers of world-leading significance. Our successes in securing funding through international organisations, funding councils, and other associations confirms the importance of the work that we do.
We are also committed to producing research that impacts upon the world around us. To do this, our colleagues engage with a wide range of actors including charities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), think-tanks, policymakers, the police, the media and many other organisations to ensure our work travels beyond the university.
