Lee Hooper has led a team of UEA researchers and students investigating dehydration and hydration care for older people since 2012. We have worked collaboratively with residents, families and care workers across the region to investigate the effectiveness of tests to diagnose dehydration in older people, as well as investigating how best to support older people to drink well – fundamental to health and well-being, but a complex activity for many older people living with physical and cognitive frailty. We have published widely in this field and Lee has an international reputation for her work, advising on a number of panels.
