Biography

Aayushi’s PhD project is on analysis of electrification in India. This includes analysis of variables leading to successful and failed electrification and subsequently the impact on developmental indicators such as health, employment, entrepreneurship etc. Aayushi has seven years of work experience in the field energy modelling and climate change. In her capacity as a researcher, she has worked closely with Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and was part of the energy modelling group that informed India’s climate pledge (INDC). She has also participated in modelling work for some of the other policies and programmes such as India’s Cooling Action plan and national communication and bi-annual update reports. Apart from this, Aayushi has also worked in collaboration with different international think tanks on energy and climate change mitigation, especially working towards building scientific consensus for climate change action.  Before the energy sector, Aayushi was working as a financial analyst for Standard’s and Poor in India (CRISIL).
