Personal profile
Academic Background
My Academic background starts at the University of Lincoln studying for BSc (hons) Biomedical Science. My final year project there involved developing portable assays for bacteria and urobilinogen using smart phone technology.
From there I was employed in the Clinical Trials and Research Unit laboratory at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. Whilst there I studied for my MSc in Cancer & Therapeutics at Queen Mary University of London. I carried out my project in molecular biology investigating drug resistance in breast and endometrial cancer cell lines.
My current PhD position which involves using and developing high throughput metagenomic pipelines to search for pathogens within human cancer tissue sequence data.
