Analytics, Information Systems, and Software Development for Businesses

I joined the UEA in June 2019 to teach subjects related to business analytics.  I focus upon the improvement of businesses with utilising data.

Before joining the UEA I worked at several Universities, mostly in the UK, but also Europe.  For example, a Senior Lecturer in Business Information Systems at the University of Portsmouth (UK), a Visiting Lecturer at Obuda University (Hungary), and a Visiting Tutor at the University of Reading Informatics Research Centre, Henley Business School (UK).  I have also been involved in consultancy, training, and knowledge transfer partnerships with business.

My teaching interests relate to business analytics.  I have extensive teaching experience in:

• Data analytics with Python;
• Information Systems;
• Software development with the Unified Modelling Language, and software programming in C# and VB.Net;
• Relational Databases.

I carry out scholarly activity that relates to the technology required for the continual digitalisation of business with data.  I use analytics, semiotic theory, sociological paradigms, and contemporary software development practices.  I followed this line of research throughout my MPhil and PhD.  I have published several, and have other planned research papers, in this area of research.  The areas that I specialise in include:

• Analytics;
• Applied semiotics;
• Requirements Engineering;
• App development.
