Academic Background

Dr Alice Bush joined the School in 2024 as a lecturer. She completed her BSc in Cognitive Psychology, MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience and PhD at the University of East Anglia. Her PhD with Dr Heidi Bonnici and Dr Louis Renoult investigated memory retrieval for real world events, specifically studying multisensory memory, and memory and visual perspective. She has mainly used behavioural techniques and fMRI to study memory retrieval but has also conducted some research using EEG and TMS. Following the end of her PhD, Alice moved to the University of Alberta (Canada) for a postdoctoral research position, where she helped collect fMRI data comparing memory encoding of 3D versus 2D 360° videos. Her main research interest is how individuals form and retrieve rich and vivid memories and what brain regions are involved in this process.
