Personal profile
Academic Background
I am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist and Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology, working on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Training programme (ClinPsyD) in the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychological Therapies, within Norwich Medical School.
I have several years experience working in the senior team on the doctoral clinical psychology training programme. In my current role, I work as the Clinical Director on the programme. This involves overseeing clinical aspects of doctoral training for approximately 160 Trainee Clinical Psychologists in the East of England region, contributing to the development of the NHS workforce. Previously, I have held the role of Selection Tutor and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead for the programme.
I also have significant experience working clinically in applied physical healthcare settings. I have worked with people living with a range of acute and chronic physical health conditions, and with people at the end of their lives. My research interests include developing a better understanding of the psychological impact of living with poor physical health, and how we can support people to manage and cope in these conditions, as well as professional issues for the clinical psychology profession.
