Key Research Interests

My research focuses on the effect of flavonoids and Mediterranean diets on ageing and cardiometabolic health and examines the mediating role of microbial and metabolite profiles within these associations.  I have led two large RCTs examining the effect of the Mediterranean Diet on cognition and other biomarkers of ageing and analyse data from a number of epidemiological studies, including TwinsUK, EPIC-Norfolk and PopGen.
