Personal profile


I am an Associate Professor in Finance at Norwich Business School and a member of the Finance Group. Prior to joining UEA, I have worked towards obtaining a PhD in Finance from the ICMA Centre, Henley Business School, University of Reading. I completed the MSc in Financial Risk Management at the University of Reading's ICMA Centre and I also hold two bachelor's degrees, a BSc in Finance and Investment Banking at the University of Reading, UK, and a BA in International Business and Economics at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania.

Currently, my research explores the following four main venues: information content of derivatives prices, price reaction to macroeconomic factors, determinants of bond-stock correlation, and credit and liquidity risks.

Key Research Interests and Expertise

My research interests include asset pricing, derivatives, credit risk, liquidity risk, predictability and market microstructure.

I have presented my research papers at several international conferences, such as the American Economic Association Annual Meetings, Northern Finance Association Annual Meetings, Midwest Finance Association Annual Meetings, European Conference of the Financial Management Association International, the INFINITI Conference on International Finance, and others.

Teaching Interests

At Norwich Business School, I am teaching Investment Management (NBS-6016Y) for 3rd-year undergraduate students and Investment and Risk Management (NBS-7077B) for postgraduate students. I am also part of the teaching staff for the postgraduate module Accounting & Financial Management (NBS-7026A).

Throughout my doctoral studies at the ICMA Centre, I was a teaching assistant for the following postgraduate and undergraduate modules: Credit Risk, Financial Econometrics, Portfolio Management, Financial Markets, and Derivative Securities.
