Biography

Andy is an archaeologist specialising in the role of institutions in developing complexity, and in cultural heritage. He received his Ph.D. from the University of East Anglia in 2011 and has worked as a professional archaeologist since 1984, first as a field archaeologist and latterly as a cultural heritage advisor. Andy is the principal investigator on the Later Prehistoric Norfolk Project and a co-investigator on Nara to Norvic: arrivals and beliefs at the extremities of the Silk Roads and is developing a project comparing the Yayoi Period in Japan with Iron Age Britain through the lens of the Axial Age.
