Personal profile


Working within the research and innovation services department, my role is to facilitate collaboration, engagement and partnerships with external organisations within the business, financial and legal services sectors. Where businesses and firms are looking to innovate, grow, diversify or overcome a specific challenge, UEA can help by providing access to academic expertise and knowledge exchange through collaborative research and joint funding, consultancy, executive training as well as introducing student and graduate talent via recruitment and internship programmes.  

I joined UEA in 2017 from grant-making charity, Norfolk Community Foundation where I was director of marketing and development and worked with businesses, professional advisors, charitable trusts and individuals to support them with their corporate social responsibility and charitable giving.  Prior to that, I worked as business development manager for Top 100 UK law firm, Birketts LLP developing sector and practice led focus groups, bids and tenders for legal services and legal directory submissions.

Following my BA (Hons) Communication Studies at Nottingham Trent University in 1996, I worked in account management at advertising and resourcing agency, TMP Worldwide focusing on student marketing and employer branding, then as national resources manager at Hays Plc.  I have also held roles at Aviva and in the Guardian Media Group.
