Biography

Dr Arijit Bhattacharya is an Associate Professor in Operations and Supply Chain Management and Course Leader of MSc Operations and Logistics Management at Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia. Prior to this appointment, he worked at Dubai Business School (University of Dubai), Brunel Business School (Brunel University London) and Dublin City University Business School (Dublin City University). He has taught a number of undergraduate and post-graduate courses. He served both industries and academia. He is the recipient of the prestigious Irish Research Council of Science, Engineering & Technology's Embark Initiative Post-doctoral Research Fellow in 2007. He has five years of post-doctoral research experience at Dublin City University, Ireland. Arijit is a Chartered Fellow of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation, United Kingdom.

To date, he has published more than 70 articles in prominent international journals (including ABS 4, 3, and 2-rated journals), refereed conferences and book chapters. He worked as a Guest Editor of special issues of various prominent ABS 3 journals. Dr Bhattacharya has received research grants from various funding agencies including the Irish Research Council for Science & Technology (now Irish Research Council). He actively collaborates with both industries and academia. To date, Arijit has supervised 45 MBA/MSc dissertations and one PhD thesis. 

Dr Bhattacharya is a Senior Associate Editor of the FIIB Business Review journal and an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management. He is a reviewer of many ABS 4 and 3-rated journals. To date, he has served in 66 referred international conferences as a programme committee member. He worked as a track chair of the British Academy of Management conferences in 2017 and 2018.

Arijit was a member of the International Association of Engineers, member of the IEEE Systems, Man & Cybernetics Society, Industrial Applications Technical Committee, member of the EURO Working Group Multi-Criteria Aid for Decisions (EWG-MCDA), member of the International Society on Multi-Criteria Decision-Making, member of The Institution of Engineers (India), Chartered Engineer of The Institution of Engineers (India).
