Biography

I completed my thesis titled ‘a recognitive theory of identity and the structuring of public space’ at UEA in 2021 under the supervision of Thomas Greaves and Davide Rizza. My project focuses on contemporary identity politics and the concept of the self, and has been adapted into the monograph The Politics of Recognition in the Age of Digital Spaces: Appearing Together, published by Routledge. Presently, my research focuses on social media technologies and the ways in which these structure our experience of the world both online and offline.

I am a dedicated philosopher with a broad range of expertise across the humanities, with teaching experience across the schools of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communications Studies; Literature, Drama and Creative Writing; Art, Media, and American Studies; and the Interdisciplinary Institute of the Humanities.

My areas of specialisation and teaching interests include feminist theory, queer theory, post-colonial theory, critical race studies, phenomenology, political philosophy and contemporary philosophy of technology.. Some of the modules I’ve previously taught on include 'Critical Theory and Practice,' 'Politics in the USA,' 'Existential Philosophies,' 'Philosophical Problems,' 'Philosophy of History and Politics,' 'Advanced Themes in Philosophy of History,' 'Philosophy of History,' and 'Phenomenology and Existentialism.'
