Academic Background

In 2021, Charel Wohl finished his PhD with Ming-xi Yang at PML and Bill Sturges acting as a supervisor at UEA looking at volatile organic compounds' concentrations and fluxes in the polar regions. He then moved to Barcelona to do a two-year post doc at ICM-CSIC with Rafel Simo learning more about the ocean's sulfur cycle and participating in a cruise in Antarctica. Charel joined UEA in 2023 working with the PTR-MS under Dave Oram. He is looking forward to flying this instrument during the CARES campaign on the FAAM aircraft taking high resolution measurements of volatile organic compounds.
In the polar regions or high up in the atmosphere, Charel enjoys taking high quality measurements with Proton Transfer Reaction Mass Spectrometers and learning what these measurements tell us about the climate system.
