Personal profile

Biography

I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Global Development at the University of East Anglia and the University of Copenhagen. In my research, I am investigating the role environmental changes and crises play in translocal social networks among seasonal migrants in Ghana. This thematically ties into previous research I conducted in the course of my master's thesis. As part of the MiTra|WA (Migration and Translocality in West Africa) research project, I studied translocally organised social security networks amongst female migrants in Accra, Ghana. In order to do so I conducted qualitative ethnographic fieldwork for a total of three months, mostly in Accra.

I recently graduated from the University of Passau and hold a Master of Art in Development Studies with a focus on Sustainability. In my bachelor's degree, I studied political science (major) and ethnology (minor) at the University of Freiburg. Further, I spent a semester abroad at the University of Thessaloniki as part of the ERASMUS+ program.
