Academic Background

Christopher is an Assistant Course Director, with a responsibility for fitness to practice and trainee wellbeing, on the Doctorate in Educational Psychology at UEA. A registered practitioner psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council, and a chartered psychologist with the British Psychological Society, Christopher has been a practicing educational psychologist since completing his doctorate at the Institute of Education, University of London in 2012.

After spending most of his working career an Educational Psychologist at a local authority, Christopher is now working in a multi academy trust leading on their inclusion and Send practices and policies. Christopher has spent a majority of his career working in the south east of England. Christopher also works at the Doctorate of Child, Adolescent and Educational Psychology at the Institute of Education, University College London.

Christopher’s research focuses on the experiences of autistic young people’s education. Previous research has focussed on the sense of belonging, inclusion and identity of autistic girls, with a current focus on autistic children’s playtime experiences.  Christopher’s other research interests are exploring evidence based practices in education, and specifically in the educational psychology profession .
