Academic Background
Ciara is a writer and researcher with a background in performing arts and academic publishing. Her PhD at UEA is funded by a CHASE AHRC studentship.
Her creative-critical PhD, an intertwined novel and critical study explore the possibilities of women's working-class experimental fiction after Beckett. The critical study develops a tradition coming out of Beckett through the writing of Ann Quin, and others. The creative element is a novel, Lady Bangers.
