Personal profile

Biography

I joined UEA as Lecturer in Film Studies in 2020. Prior to this I worked for 14 years at Solent University as part of the Film department. My research to date has focused on the contexts of James Bond and the politics of representation in popular culture more widely. My publications include a monograph titled The playboy and James Bond: 007, Ian Fleming and Playboy magazine, published by Manchester University Press (in 2018), a co-authored book on fantasy film, two edited volumes, book chapters, and journal articles.

I completed my PhD at the University of Southampton, where I also studied MA Film and BA English. In 2011 I completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGC LTHE) at Solent University and became a Fellow of HEA.
