Biography
Clare Aldus joined the University of East Anglia School of Pharmacy in January 2012 and moved to the School of Health Sciences in January 2014. Whilst at UEA she has worked on a range of NIHR-funded research studies.
Her research interests are focused on the health and care needs of older people. She has mixed methods experience in the design and conduct of studies to evaluate and improve the care of older people including randomised controlled trials and longitudinal cohort data studies in medicines management, improving care in hospital and dementia diagnosis.
She enjoys working with patients, public and other important stakeholders in better care for older people including a range of professionals across health and social care and is leading a UEA Impact Case Study focused on dementia diagnosis. She is also a leading member of the UEA Health Health and Social Care Partners groups for frailty and medicines optimisation.
Prior to working at UEA she worked at the Institute of Food Research (now the Quadram Institute) in the foodborne pathogens group mainly on developing and validating microbiological methods for the detection and enumeration of dangerous pathogens including Clostridium botulinum and verotoxigenic Escherichia coli.
