Cristina Martin Jimenez is a Lecturer in Nursing Sciences (Child/Neonatal). She is the Module Organiser for the Foundations in Neonatal Care, Neonatal High Dependency Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Modules. Cristina teaches across a range of pre- and post-registration programmes within the School with a focus on Neonatal Care.
Cristina qualified as a registered nurse in 2002 and she has an MSc in Neonatal Advanced Practice, an MSc in Intensive Care, an MSc in Management, and an MSc in Research. She is an independent prescriber and she is currently finishing her PhD.
She has acquired international expertise in A&E, ITU and Neonates since being qualified. She has worked as the Clinical Specialist Lead in a pharmaceutical company teaching and researching internationally with them. She has taught Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology at the Complutense University in Spain. She continues to work in clinical practice as Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
Cristina has expertise in qualitative and quantitative research and is currently actively involved in a range of research projects relating to neonatal care.
She has a special interest in Neurodevelopmental Care, Necrotising Enterocolitis and Tongue tie.
