Divya Ghelani

I'm a Literature & Creative Writing CHASE PhD Scholar at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. As part of the PhD, I have just completed a CHASE Editorial Placement at Wasafiri Magazine, a quarterly British literary magazine covering international contemporary writing, for whom I conceived and ran my own series entitled ‘Writing the Self, Writing Berlin.’

I have over two decades of experience in writing, research, and editing, having obtained an MA in Creative Writing from The University of East Anglia and taught and edited works for The Reader Berlin, TLC, Faber, Writing East Midlands (the region I'm from in the UK), and worked as a staff writer for BBC Magazines. I was also a Researcher/Co-Curator at www.strikeatimperial.net, a 2019 Leicester city exhibition based on my research (now part of my PhD). 

For my Literature and Creative Writing CHASE-funded PhD, I am writing a novel set in 70s Britain and a critical thesis on the ethics and politics of storytelling.
