Dr Eleanor Chatburn is a mental health researcher and registered clinical psychologist (HCPC and BABCP accredited). She has a special interest in global child and youth mental health research and specializes in the development and delivery of evidence-based psychological interventions for children and young people.
Dr Chatburn is Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, UK and also holds honorary academic positions as Visiting Researcher at the University of Cambridge Department of Psychology and Honorary Lecturer at Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia.
Dr Chatburn completed her professional doctorate in clinical psychology in the UK and gained an additional accreditation as a cognitive behavioural therapist (CBT). She has extensive clinical experience working in National Health Service stepped care mental health services with people across the lifespan.
In conjunction with her academic responsibilities, she works clinically for CPFT NHS Trust where she provides mental health support to University of Cambridge medical students.
Prior to becoming an Honorary Lecturer at UEA, Dr Chatburn held the position of Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at UEA where she contributed to teaching and research supervision on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course.
Dr Chatburn has held various research and teaching positions at leading higher education institutions including: The University of Oxford, The University of Bath, and The Open University. She has taught courses including: qualitative research methods, child development, developmental psychopathology, and CBT theory and skills.
Dr Chatburn is passionate about sharing unbiased evidence-based information about mental health with the wider public. She has been featured as an expert in outlets including The Guardian and Refinery29, numerous podcasts (eg MQ and King's College London) and was recently interviewed by Louise Minchin for a special ITN Business feature.
Before her career change, Dr Chatburn worked as an editor for over five years for the leading international academic publisher, Oxford University Press.
