Biography

Emily obtained a BSc in Pharmacology and Drug Discovery at the University of East Anglia in 2019. She then began a PhD in cancer biology in the School of Pharmacy at the University of East Anglia, focussing on targeting the transcription factor Nrf2 in lung and melanoma cancers. In 2022, Emily joined the Early Career Pharmacologists Advisory Group (ECPAG) at the British Pharmacological Society and the Norwich Cancer Research Network's executive group. After finishing her PhD, Emily began her teaching career as a Lecturer in Cell Biology in the School of Pharmacy and later went on to also take up a position as Lecturer in Immunology in the School of Biological Sciences at UEA. In 2024, she then moved positions to her current role as Lecturer in Pharmacology in the School of Chemistry, Pharmacy and Pharmacology at UEA. 

Emily's research interests are in the field of cancer biology and inflammation. She is particularly interested in investigating signalling pathways and novel drug targets for cancer research. She is also interested in pedagogical research, having achieved her Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in 2024.
