Biography
Emily completed her BSc in Pharmacology and Drug Discovery at the University of East Anglia before undertaking a PhD in Cancer Biology within the School of Pharmacy. Following completion of her PhD, Emily began her academic career as a Lecturer in Cell Biology in the School of Pharmacy and subsequently held a concurrent position as Lecturer in Immunology in the School of Biological Sciences at UEA. In 2024, she joined the School of Chemistry, Pharmacy and Pharmacology as a Lecturer in Pharmacology, where she contributes to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Alongside her research, Emily has been actively engaged with the wider scientific community, serving on the British Pharmacological Society’s Early Career Pharmacologists Advisory Group (ECPAG) and the Norwich Cancer Research Network Executive Group. She is also interested in pedagogical research and science communication, having achieved her Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy and Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice (PGCert HEP) in 2024.

Teaching Interests
Emily's teaching interests focus on inclusive and accessible education and research-led teaching. She is particularly interested in the development of authentic assessments that enable students to apply their knowledge in meaningful and professionally relevant contexts. Her pedagogical practice aims to foster engagement, belonging, and academic success for diverse student cohorts, while drawing on evidence-based approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment. She is also active in science communication and public engagement, contributing to events such as the Norwich Science Festival, the Royal Norfolk Show, and school outreach activities to promote engagement with pharmacology and biomedical science across a wide range of audiences.
