Personal profile

Biography

I am a post-baccalaureate researcher at the School of Psychology, UEA. I am working with Dr Teodora Gliga and Dr Kelsey Frewin on the ERSC-funded "Baby Language and Conceptual Knowledge Study" (BLoCKS). Here, we aim to understand how language access can influence conceptual and cognitive development concerning category learning in hearing and deaf infants. This project is conducted in partnership with Dr Nadja Althaus of the School of Psychology at UEA, Dr Evelyne Mercure from the School of Psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London, and Dr Marie Smith of Birkbeck, University of London.

My bachelor years at Arizona State University were characterized by research in child developmental science with The Emerging Minds Lab and auditory neuroscience research with the Lab of Auditory Computation and Neurophysiology. While at Arizona State, I developed a thesis relating to resilience in children of Deaf adults and pursued a pre-medicine route with the intention of acquiring an MD-PhD in the future. As such, I have experience and certification as a healthcare professional in the United States.
