Personal profile


I am an Associate Professor in Business Strategy and obtained my Mphil in Technology Policy and PhD in Strategy and International Business from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. My areas of interest include innovation management, industrial clusters, and strategic management. Before becoming an academic, I worked as a project leader with Oracle Corporation in Beijing. Prior to joining Norwich Business School, I was an Assistant Professor in Beijing Normal University, and an Executive MBA Programme Course Coordinator in Cambridge Judge Business School.

In addition, I am Plagiarism Officer at NBS. I share best practices and knowledge with students to avoid plagiarism and how to reference properly, and deal with plagiarism cases by working with colleagues in NBS and plagiarism officers at other schools.


Key Research Interests and Expertise

My research interests include innovation management, industrial clusters, and strategic management. I investigate questions such as: How to enable innovation? How industrial clusters are formed and developed? What are the sources of competitive advantages? I have a number of publications, including academic papers and book chapters. I am a member of the Academy of Management and the Academy of International Business. I have also presented papers at a number of national and international conferences including Academy of Management Annual Conference Meetings and Academy of International Business Annual Conference Meetings.

I would be happy to hear from anyone who is interested in undertaking a PhD in the fields of innovation managment, industrial clusters, and strategic management.

Teaching Interests

I teach on both the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the following modules: Introduction to Business and Innovation Management. In the past I have taught modules on Strategic Management and International Business.
