Biography
I hold the position of Associate Professor at the School of Economics and am an active member of the Centre for Competition Policy at the University of East Anglia.
Currently serving as an associate editor for the journal Economic Inquiry, my research focuses on empirical industrial organisation and competition policy, with a minor emphasis on economic history.
I have published in the Cambridge Cambridge Journal of Economics, Economic and Social Review, Economic Inquiry, Energy Policy, International Journal of Industrial Organization, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Economic History, Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, Review of Economics and Statistics, Review of Industrial Organization, Small Business Economics, The Economics Bulletin. Current work is under revise and resubmit at Journal of Industrial Economics and International Journal of Industrial Organization (conditionally accepted).
My work spans diverse areas, including cartels, horizontal mergers, impact evaluation, innovation, redistribution, and platforms.
I have co-investigated two research projects for the European Commission, DGComp, and have led projects for the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, as well as the Financial Regulatory Council within the UK. Beyond academia, I have provided consultancy services for the Philippine Competition Commission and the South Africa Competition Commission, with the latter being an ongoing commitment. I have acted as external impact assessor to last year (2023) Competition and Markets Authority’s impact assessment report.
