From social democracy to neoliberalism? Council housing, community and everyday life in England, c. 1960s to present
Research interests include: the rise and fall of council housing, social and economic planning in British new towns, housing policy and urban regeneration, the experience of social democracy and neoliberalism in Britain, and the history of socialism, Marxism and the left in Europe
Alongside his current PhD research and teaching commitments, Freddie has an ongoing project of cataloging and historicising 20th century council estates in the London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark.
