Academic Background

Dr Gareth Hagger-Johnson is an Affiliated Academic at UCL Consumer Data Research Centre, Honorary Research Fellow at Norwich Medical School and Director of Data Strategy at the Nottingham Building Society. His academic areas of interest are quantitative psychology, epidemiology and public health. He has previously worked for University of Leeds, UCL, UCL Consultants, University of Edinburgh, Kantar Worldpanel, C. Hoare & Co. and PCF Bank (academia and industry). He has expertise in linking large datasets and advanced statistical methods to uncover patterns and trends that address issues of representation and inequality. This includes analysis of algorithmic bias and its impact on outcomes for minority, vulnerable and extraordinary groups in the population.
