Biography

Giovanni Bressan is a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the University of East Anglia's School of Chemistry, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, a position he has held since 2024. His research focuses on the role of structural and nuclear dynamics in ultrafast photoinduced processes, with a focus on excited state aromaticity reversal. To explore such phenomena, he develops and employs coherent multidimensional spectroscopic techniques.

Previously, he served as a Senior Research Associate at UEA and as a Research Associate at Imperial College London under the supervision of Professor Jasper J. van Thor, where he developed both experimental and theoretical aspects of multidimensional spectroscopies.

Dr. Bressan completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of East Anglia between 2016 and 2019, working under the guidance of Professors Ismael A. Heisler, Stephen R. Meech, and Garth A. Jones.
