Biography

I completed my undergraduate degree at Imperial College before graduating with a PhD from Loughborough University. I subsequently held several postdoctoral appointments in the USA including Brown University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There after I held a postdoctoral position at the University of Cambridge before joining the University of East Anglia in 2009 as Lecturer. I was promoted to Associate Professor in 2018.

Key Research Interests

My primary research interests is in the modelling of superfluids. I have a particular interest in non-equilibrium phenomena including vortex dynamics, quantum turbulence, relaxation dynamics, and non-equilibrium phase transitions. Recent projects have focused on studying phase transitions in spinor Bose-Einstein condensates, and working with experimentalists to model turbulence in a low-dimensional scalar Bose-Einstein condensate.
