Personal profile

Academic Background

I am a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the UEA with a joint appointment as an interventional cardiologist at NNUH since September 2020. I am originally from Mauritius and completed my medical degree in Mandarin from Beijing, China. I trained in cardiology in the East of England Deanery and obtained a PhD from University College London on the role of tissue characterisation by CMR in STEMI. My research interest expands from assessing reperfusion injury in STEMI using cardiovascular magnetic resonance and invasive coronary physiology, to finding novel approaches to minimise reperfusion injury and post-MI adverse LV remodelling. I am also interested to explore the role of intramyocardial haemorrhage as a precursor to poor long-term outcomes in STEMI and the identification and treatment of LV thrombus post MI.
