Career

I am an early career marine scientist. Previous work includes examination of variability patterns and potential environmental factors influencing microplankton abundance and species composition in tropical estuaries as example of gradient aquatic ecosystems; phytoplankton physiology and identification by microscopy; determination of the first data set on net community and gross production rates during a Celtic Sea spring bloom at high resolution with dissolved oxygen-to-argon ratios and triple oxygen isotopes. Current work assesses the contribution of bacterioplankton respiration to microbial community respiration and how it varies with plankton community structure and dissolved organic matter. My research interest is focused in air-sea gas exchange (O2 and CO2) as a result of biological processes like primary production-respiration, and physical processes like wind, waves, and ocean warming, especially in most unexplored regions such as tropics or polar environments and therefore I would like to push my career in that direction.
