Academic Background

Jacob studied an undergraduate degree in Computing with Electronics, and a PhD in Computing entitled, "Language Identification Using Visual Features". He has worked in the areas of speech recogntion, computational biology, and medical computing. Most recently, Jacob worked as the Senior Research Associate on a project funded by the Medical Research Council to develop a device and associated computer algorithms for assessing patients with dizziness: The Continuous Ambulatory Vestibular Assessment (CAVA) project.

Jacob recently joined the Research and Specialist Computing Support (RSCS) team as a Research Software Engineer (RSE). For more information on the RSCS, please visit our website.
