Academic Background

My current research looks at comparing different location methods, velocity models and station configurations to understand how this impacts earthquake locations. Comparison of different methods has resulted in a new methodolgy used to locate earthquakes on Montserrat. This is then used to relocate past seismicity on the island from 1995 to present so that more can be understood about the volcanic plumbing system at this time.

I have also worked as a research assistant on the Hawaii project STAK during an urgency grant in 2018. This project looked at temporal variations in seismic anisotropy during the 2018 eruption. My previous research at Southampton University looked at seismicity prior to the formation of Sholan Island in the Red Sea. Seismicity helped constrain the location of the feeder dyke repsonsible for this event.

I have participated in a wide range of outreach events including the Norwich Science Festival, and demonstrated on several undergraduate coureses and fieldtrips as an Assoicate Tutor.
