Academic Background

James gained his PhD in Bionanotechnology at Cranfield University as part of a CASE studentship in collaboration with Unilever, Colworth. here he worked on glycoproteins at interfaces and worked towards understanding how molecules feel at biological intercfaces using  OWLS (optical waveguide lightmode spectroscopy). Next, he moved to the chemistry department, Cambridge to work in the Klenerman group where he used single moelecule imaging to determine the T cell receptor stochiometry. A three year postdoc at UEA, working in Andrea Munsterbergs group saw James tracking heart progenitors in chick embryos. Prior to taking up the role as bioimaging facility manager at UEA, James spent the previous 5 years back at the Klenerman lab working across immunotherapy and advanced microscopy projects.
