Personal profile

Key Research Interests

I have worked extensively in an editorial role for broadcasters based in the UK and this has influenced my current research.

I am interested in the balance between offence and freedom of expression in satire and political comedy with a focus on broadcasting regulation. My thesis is exploring what influences writers and editorial teams when deciding what is transmitted and what is left on the (digital) cutting room floor.

I am currently carrying out fieldwork within the broadcasting media industry, interviewing writers, producers and editorial staff regarding the regulation of political satire.
