Personal profile
Biography
I am a Public Health registrar (medically qualified) with research interests in inequalities, primary care, health services research and global burden of disease. I am particularly interested in research which makes a difference to patients and the public. My research skills include evidence synthesis, meta-analysis, indirect comparison, cohort analysis and service evaluation.
My fellowship at UEA looked at how disadvantaged older people from rural areas access primary care. The first two years were spent generating theory based on a realist review, cohort analysis of ELSA using structural equation modelling and semi-structured interviews/focus groups. In the second two years I completed a feasibilty study to improve access to primary care for older people with four general practices in Norfolk. The main publications can be found on the publications section.
I am currently a Clinical Lecturer in Public Health at the University of Cambridge and Honorary Research Fellow at the University of East Anglia. If you'd like to contact me please use my Cambridge University email (jf653@medschl.cam.ac.uk).
