Academic Background
I am a Financial Stability Advisor with the Office of Technical Assistance at the US Department of the Treasury. I was Professor of Global Finance and Head of the Business School at Bangor University during 2009-2016, and before that I was with the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC where I was, respectively, Assistant Director in the Western Hemisphere Department, the Fiscal Affairs Department, and the Middle East and Central Asia Department. I have also been a staff member of the Economics Department of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris, a Lecturer in Economics at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, and a Vice President of Economics with Merrill Lynch in London.
