Career
Julian Sturdy joined the UEA in October 2020 as Lecturer in Broadcast and Digital Journalism. Previously at the BBC as Investigations Editor at BBC East. 35 years in broadcast as a producer, reporter, editor in tv, radio and online. Producer of Panorama "Cashing in of the Housing Crisis" Feb 2020. Former Producer of BBC Look East; Editor Inside Out East. National awards including Royal Television Award; National Healthcare Journalist of the Year; Nominated five times in the British Journalism Awards 2016-2019. Nominated by Radio Academy. Specialising in investigations and data journalism. Produced editions of "Face the Facts" on BBC Radio 4; Appearances on News Channel; Today, 5Live, Politics Live; You & Yours; Victoria Derbyshire Programme. Currently teaches on BA Broadcast and Multimedia Journalism and MA Broadcast and Digital Journalism.Former District Chief Reporter at the Eastern Daily Press and West Norfolk Producer for BBC Radio Norfolk.
