Biography

I studied for my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Letters degrees at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia, in the 1990s and later completed a PhD at Griffith University, Brisbane. My thesis, titled ‘Rural Cinema: Film Exhibition and Consumption in Australia and the United Kingdom’, was funded by a Linkage Grant from the Australian Research Council and conducted as a collaboration between Griffith University, the National Film and Sound Archive and Screen Australia.

Prior to undertaking my PhD studies I worked as a senior researcher at the Australian Film Commission (now known as Screen Australia).
